Accelerated Reader Requirements:      
In addition to the reading text and core literature, every student will be required
to complete independent reading. Students are encouraged to read books within their AR level as determined by the STAR test. The corresponding AR test must be taken and passed at 70% or higher.    Here's a site that has some great book recommendations  and another for 5th graders.
